From the initial conception of the T1 roster, hopes were high that they would become the first dynasty in the VALORANT world. After some early events that showed promise, the team began to falter. Thus, the changes started to happen. Most recently in early February, the team removed both Braxton “Brax” Pierce and Keven “AZK” Larivière from the active roster. Now the next changes have happened, as the team announced that Sam “DaZeD” Marine will be removed from the roster. Meanwhile, Ha “Spyder” Jung-woo will be out with a hand injury. In their place, brax will be brought back, and Anthony “dawn” Hagopian will be promoted from the academy roster.
The struggles are clear, as recently they finished tied for last place in the Challengers 2 securing only $1,000. With many changes coming to teams all across the North American region, T1 had to make a change to compete with the elite teams in the VALORANT scene.
T1 and brax are no strangers to each other, as the legendary League of Legends org made him the first ever VALORANT pro, even before the game was officially released. He will be coming back after a short stint with TSM FTX, that saw him play only a few matches with them.
As for Dawn, he will be promoted from the academy while Spyder deals with a hand injury. He was previously a member of Pittsburgh Knights, having been a member from their inception to March, when he was subsequently added to the T1 Academy roster. In his time in the semi-pro scene, Dawn has primarily played a duelist role, amassing an ACS of 206 and a rating of 1.09.
After these changes, T1 VALORANT is now:
Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham
Rahul “curry” Nemani
Timothy “autimatic” Ta
Braxton “Brax” Pierce
Anthony “dawn” Hagopian
Ha “Spyder” Jung-woo (benched)
